About Us

The Recruitment LINK offers to clients a bespoke personal service by providing tailor made recruitment solutions for today's business needs.

The Recruitment LINK was founded by Penny Harper FIRP in February 2001. Penny's reputation in the North West and the hard work of the team quickly led to the company establishing itself as a reliable supplier to renowned local and national companies. In September of the first year a High Street competitor was acquired and the business incorporated into the Newcastle Branch.  With the success in Newcastle it became necessary to move into larger premises in Leeds House.

In 2003 the company assisted Bentley Motors in recruiting a workforce of 260 to build the new Bentley GT. The contract was completed in 3 months on time and within budget.

At the Recruitment LINK we have a combined total in excess of 50 years experience in the Recruitment industry.

All our Recruitment Consultants comply with the standards of the industry's governing body the "Recruitment & Employment Confederation" and follow their Code of Best Practice ensuring a high quality service every time.  


Our Team;

Penny Harper FIRP, Managing Director   

Penny established Link Office Recruitment in 1986 from an office in Crewe as part of the LINK Organisation. She was appointed Managing Director as the company grew to a national player re-branding as Spring Personnel. After a year as an Executive Director at the Spring Group HQ she left to set up her own company in January 2001, aptly named "The Recruitment LINK".

Lee Harper FIRP MAAT, Finance Director 

After working within industry Lee joined Penny to setup The Recruitment Link in January 2001. After spending many years as a recruiter and onsite coordinator for the Bentley & TK Maxx contract, he went on to undertake his qualifications in the field of finance and is today, after studying and achieving his qualifications, the finance director of the business.

Carole Bennett FIRP, Branch Manager  

Carole entered the Recruitment industry after many years as a Conference and Banqueting Manager for the British Potteries Manufacturers Federation. After a year with Staff Line in Newcastle she joined the company in October 2001. In early 2002 she gained her REC qualification in Recruitment Practice. She manages the Industrial desk where she deals with a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled Industrial workers, also covering Catering, Hotel and Bar staff.  Carole's clients include major manufacturers, engineering companies and her experience is renowned within the Hotel and Banqueting industry.

Sandra Fleming FIRP, Technical & Managerial Senior Consultant  

Sandra began her career in Recruitment in 1993 and worked for Spring Personnel for 17 years, based in Staffordshire and latterly in Cheshire. In 2010 she returned to join Penny Harper at the Recruitment LINK and deals with technical and professional temporary and permanent vacancies. Sandra has an excellent reputation in Stoke on Trent within the business community.

Clive Harrison FIRP, Recruitment Consultant  

Clive began his career in recruitment in 1997 and has vast experience as a 360 recruiter within the field of industrial, skilled and technical placements for temporary and permanent staff.

Having worked within the Recruitment Industry for over 20 years Clive brings an array of knowledge to the business and will be a great asset to the wealth of experience already in the team.

Charlie Pritchard, Recruitment Consultant  

Charlie is a Law Graduate after studying at Staffordshire University who worked for the company in 2014-2015 proving herself to be a successful commercial recruiter.

Due to her personal circumstances in late 2015 Charlie was placed by the Recruitment Link with one of our valued clients in a part time role before moving back into full time employment in 2017 as a Sales team Leader.

We are pleased to announce that Charlie has now rejoined the Recruitment Link team in September 2019 taking over the recruitment of commercial temporary and permanent staffing for our valued clients once again.

Adam Frost ACMA CGMA, Accounts Manager   

Adam was recruited by Lee joining the company in September 2013 as a Graduate in Accounting and Finance from Staffordshire University.

After sponsoring him through his studies Adam achieved his final qualifications becoming fully CIMA qualified in 2018 and became the Financial Accountant for the company.

Amy Lewis, Branch Secretary 

Amy has a BA Honours Degree after studying at The University of Manchester. Having joined The Recruitment Link as a temporary member of staff in February 2017, Amy proved to be an outstanding candidate in carrying out her role and as such we offered her a permanent position in May of that year.

Amy has been a great support to the team ever since and is the cornerstone as the most valuable front of house representative for the company.
